Kenny Omega To Impact Wrestling?! MAJOR Indie Star Appears At WWE NXT! | WrestleTalk News Jul 2018

So anyway, the news
And we start with an update on everyone’s
favourite Singh brother, Samir.
Little Sammy Singh has been out of action
after suffering a torn ACL back in late January.
Which he got leaving the ring after the brothers
jumped Bobby Roode on Smackdown. It would
be karma, if kayfabe didn’t exist.
But things are looking up for Jinder’s right
hand man, or left hand depending on which
side the brothers come out on as he’s been
back in the gym and making good progress to
recovery and getting those hashtag gains up
on instagram for us all to see.
When his injury occurred WWE didn’t give
a timeframe for when he’d be back in action,
but usually recovery of this kind of injury
is 6-9 months. So expect him to pop up on
RAW fairly soon.
While Samir is in the gym getting Judy Dench,
WWE is in Japan debuting one of their biggest
indie signings yet.
At an event at Tokyo’s Sumo Hall Japanese
star Io Shirai appeared to announced that
she has signed with WWE and will be starting
in NXT this summer.
Exciting times! As one of the most decorated
Japanese female wrestlers she could have a
similar trajectory to fellow countrywoman
Asuka! Imagine!
She’s comes in dominant, goes on a huge
undefeated streak, goes up to the main roster,
wins the Women’s Rumble, loses to Charlotte
at Wrestlemania and eventually gets thrown
off course completely by James Ellsworth.
Maybe not then.
If she arrives in summer she’ll be joining
just in time to compete in the Mae Young Classic
too, although there’s no official word on
whether she’s entering the tournament.
But that could mean she has a similar trajectory
to fellow countrywoman Kairi Sane! Imagine!
She comes in dominant, storms to victory during
the Mae Young Classic, and is then beaten
up by Shana Bayzler. Maybe not.
Basically there’s every possibility WWE
are gonna mess this up.
But they have made Io a pretty rad mask so
there’s that. Who doesn’t love a mask.
And there are potential seeds of a first feud
forming on Twitter, with NXT’s biggEST mouth
Bianca Belair calling Shirai: ‘just another
indie girl for me to be better than…’
Speaking of stars of Japanese Wrestling, 7
stars if you ask Meltzer, there’s talk that
Kenny Omega could work with Impact in the
Now, a lot of this chat comes from Impact
executive Don Callis who recently appeared
on Jim Ross’s Ross Report where the two
went into great depth on Omega.
Callis said: “I’ve been on this journey
with Kenny Omega since he was a 16 year old
kid who I booked. I gave him his first break
wrestling for the promotion I had in Winnipeg.
And his uncle, The Golden Sheik, who was an
indie wrestler in Winnipeg helped train me
in the business in 1989, so my roots with
Kenny go back many years. I’ve been on this
journey with him, and specifically since I’ve
been in New Japan and we have a very close
Callis revealed that he helped put together
the match with Chris Jericho at Tokyo Dome
and feels euphoric at Omegas victory over
And when pressed on the possibility of Kenny
appearing on Impact, Callis seemed positive:
‘I kind of say, ‘never say ‘never” and
I think that one of the things that we’ve
been doing under Ed Nordholm here at Impact
is breaking some long standing paradigms of
pro wrestling. The intellectual property stuff
that we’ve talked about before, but also we’ve
been working with multiple people now.’
He then goes on to namedrop Taiji Ishimori’s
Bone Soldier as one example of cross promotional
talent appearing on Impact.
But Callis also reckons something will come
out of Chris Jericho’s cruise, the Rock
‘n’ Wrestling Rager at Sea, besides of
course the brilliant signing of Ricky Steamboat,
who is also potentially the venue.
With Ring of Honor talent and Impact talent
all rubbing shoulders on this five day floating
fiesta, you’ve got to expect some feuds
to spin out of this one, Callis defs does:
“It’s going to be Impact and Ring Of Honor
on the same cruise ship, so there’s some stuff
that’s probably going to happen and I don’t
think you can have those talents in a closed
environment like that, so we are working,
in a sense if you take that, with Ring Of
Honor right now.”
So yeah, expect the sailing to be bumpy.

  1. The Hazardous One

I must say, first i thought this el fakidor guy seemed shifty but now i understand….hes the most trustworthy guy ever! And hes great at the news! Prolly better than luke

  2. I'm wondering why Io Shirai decided to go to NX3. One cool thing they could do is set up a stable with Asuka, Kairi and Io in it or something, but knowing the writing that WWE offers, there's a huge chance they'll ruin that too.

  3. Wait, but I thought El Fakidor looked familiar because he was El Generico… damnit Fake Luke I never wanted to know that you were Genericoooooooooo*cuts away*

  4. i don't think omega going to impact would be a good idea, think his stock would be better of he goes to wwe over impact

  5. I would absolutely 100% want to see Omega in WWE rather than fucking Impact garbage. He is WAAAAY to big of a star for WWE to fuck him up. They didnt fuck up Styles and Omega is currently more popular than Styles was then.

  6. I know Oil as the El Fakidor should be the breaking news…but im MORE concerned about that newsboy who held onto Oli's jacket– he's facing BYRON SAXTON!!!
    Arm yourself, little newsboy!

  7. Hahahhahahaha "just another indie girl" but bianca work in the indie before

At least io shirai made her name for the world and get recognize

  8. Matthew del Rosario

If Impact has the money to pay Omega, why not? Kenny's canadian and Impact is now based in Canada, so it would make sense for both parties. Kenny could be the face of Impact much like how Okada is with New Japan.

  9. Don really likes talking about Kenny and how great of friends he is with Kenny and how he helped Kenny get everything he has and blah blah blah.

  10. WHAAAAAAT!?!?! So El Fakidor was Fake Luke Owens this whole time!? We trusted him (He was so trustworthy)!…but the real Luke will never fall for the fake Oli thing…*waits for him to fall for it*

  11. What just happened? Oli walks away, Fakidor takes off the mask, and it's fOli with a long beard… Who really is Oli Davis??

  12. DigestiveCeremony

So, now it's Oli's turn to go on vacation. At least it's better than the Luke angle with one small piece of duct tape over his mouth. Lazy bastards.

  13. The Hell with Byron…….WHO REALLY IS OLI DAVIS?…….is it Jimbo? Ned? (…..oh wait that's for Cartman's Dad, SORRY!)

  14. Omega To Impact just Proves That Omega just wants to Avoid WWE At all cost and Cant blame him but i bet he will end up with WWE Before Retirement

  15. Steve Hutchinson

I am so sick of seeing fantastic talents from the indie circuit going to WWE and getting completely buried in favor of their homegrown creations. I would like to see Omega in Impact because at least TNA (more often than not) doesnt generally bury truly talented guys. Omega is about as big as it gets these days so what a boon for them!! Go Impact!!

  17. Kenny to impact would be too easy Kenny to Lucha Underground that would be awesome…Kenny versus armies of Luchadors…

  18. dammit Kenny if this is true and you appear on impact just appear on WWE beat Brock Lesnar and AJ Styles! You know you want to fight Nakamura and pick the bones.

  19. Kenny you need to keep your eyes on NXT rising superstars like Aliester Black and Johnny Wrestling. What about Lars Sullivan???

  20. Making me hate wwe more and more. It kills me that there is so much obvious awesomeness that can be done, but they squander soooo much opportunity…who writes that shit, is it ALL Vince?! Gtfo if so.

  21. Everything BLACK

They want to use Kenny to help the other Wrestling companies reach new waters before having him walk into the WWE main roster. This was probably Triple H's notion, which is a brilliant decision. Or it could've been Y.2.J's idea.

  22. Or you can just sign this guy, add him as the third man and be done…unless this is all a ruse to bring back A. B. to our screens…Gd I hope so.

  23. I hope my boy,Kenny omega go to impact wrestling,he will create a lot of buzz in the impact zone. Io Shari vs Kari sane vs asuka at wrestlemania 35,that match will be cringeworthy and worth watching
